"*French researchers studied privately for two years, 200 rats fed GM corn. Tumors, serious diseases ... a massacre. And a bomb [for the] GMO industry."

"All groups of rats, whether fed with GM maize treated or untreated with Roundup herbicide, Monsanto, or fed with water containing low doses of herbicide found in GM fields are hit by a multitude of serious diseases in the 13th month of the experiment. In females, this is manifested by explosions chain mammary tumors that reach up to 25% of their weight. Males, are purifiers organs, liver and kidneys, which are marked with abnormalities or severe. With a frequency of two to five times greater than for rodents fed non-GM corn."

  1. Maybe I'm being the devil's advocate here but who says genetically modified food that harms rodents will harm humans as well? Grapes and raisens cause kidney failure in various pets, does that mean we shouldn't eat them? Rats are only used for experimentation of thse drugs because they'e easy to breed and keep into a laboratory, what's the correlation between their health and ours?

  3. There is a lot of correlation, they have systems very similar to ours and can be used effectively as an effective test subject, especially when it comes to cancer. The main reason for this is that cancer is cancer, it is not unique to any animal. It can affect anything equally. however, the study in question was not very well done, it cannot be considered valid due to some issues in the experimental plan. ia am posting this as a separate comment and not a reply because it seems akshay and tafheem both posted the same thing and i cant pick which one to reply to.

  4. I am going to have to disagree with Tafheem and Akshay here. Rodents have been used for testing numerous products over the years. They are one of the last steps prior to releasing the drug into clinical trials. So, if the rodents are developing diseases, then I can almost guarantee you that there will be a problem with humans as well. And also, no one's gonna want to eat food that caused a rodent to have tumors and serious diseases.

  5. Tafheem and Akshay can be considered right to some extent in that dangerous effects in rodents aren't guaranteed to happen in humans. However, I think the points Sulaiman and Vikram make are more siginifcant. These rodents were harmed, and rodents have been used in countless experiments for products made for humans. Genetically modified food clearly has many drawbacks, and to be safe, I think it's better to stay away from it.
